Now about the trip itself:
- All funds collected will go to the American Cancer Society
- The trip is fully supported by America by Bicycle...that is all meals, motels and luggage transfers are provided. Support vans will accompany us with mechanics on board. SAG stops are provided. Thanks to all of you who have offered me a hot shower and meal along the way , but honestly I'm all set.
- There are some 25 or 30 bikers who will make the full cross country trip. Others will be hopping on and off as they ride segments with us.
- We begin in San Francisco on June 5 and finish in Portsmouth, NH on July 27...52 days later.
- There are 48 ride days averageing 80 plus miles per day.
- We ride all the way ...3796miles... crossing the Sierra Nevada and Rocky mountains, the Plains, The Mississippi River, the small towns in Indiana and Ohio, follow the route of the Erie Canal in NY state and finally the New England states to the Atlantic Ocean.
